In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 3003 dated May 24, 2017, the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration was established under the Faculty of "Electrotechnology and Automation of Agriculture and Water Resources" in connection with renaming the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization was done. On December 15, 1979 the chair was separated from the department "Electric drive and electricity" and "The use of electrical energy in agriculture". According to the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute from June 5, 2001 it was named "Electrical Engineering and Operation and Repair". Founded in the department from 1979 to 2004, the department was headed by Professor AR Radjabov. In accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 415 "On improving the system of training of highly qualified personnel for agriculture and water resources" in 2004, the department was joined by "Agriculture Electricity Supply". It has been operating since. From 2004 to 2011 Associate Professor AS Berdishev from 2014 to 2017 Associate Professor. NTTashpulatov headed the department. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan № PP-3003 dated May 25, 2017, the Department of "Electrical Power Supply and Use of Electrical Equipment" was subdivided into the Department "Electrical Technology and Electrical Equipment" and "Power Supply and Renewable Energy Sources". Since 2017, the department is headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor AS Berdishev. Members of the department are actively involved in scientific and educational activity of the faculty. Professors Radjabov AR, Ismailov MI, Muhammadiev AM, Musabekov PM, Muratov HM successfully defended their doctoral dissertations and created their own scientific school. At the same time the following scientists prepared and defended their dissertations: MM Egamberdieva, ID Toshev, INBelokovskiy, MI Ibragimov, Sh.Muzaffarov, AD Rakhmatov, TM Bayzakov, NT Toshpulatov, BS Fayzullaev, AD Isokov, OT Akhmedov, A. Bakiev, I. Nuritov, D. Rakhmatov, Abdulla Said Morshed, Rabbabah A. They currently work in various institutions and organizations of the Republic and foreign countries. Since its foundation, the scientific school on the topic "Application of Electrical Technology in the Process of Drying, Processing and Storage of Agricultural Products" is still considered one of the most promising areas in the Republic. At the initiative of the department was opened for the first time in Uzbekistan the dissertation council on the specialty 05.20.02. At present the chair is headed by the candidate of technical sciences, associate professor AS Berdishev. The members of the department are Prof. A. Radjabov and A.Muhammadiev, Ph.D., associate professors M. Ibragimov, T.MBayzakov U.A Kholiknazarov, R.F.Yunusov, O.M.Matchonov, A.A.Turdiboev, N.M.Eshpulatov, assistants N.A.Nuraliyeva, Z.Z.Djumabayeva M.Markaev N. Aytbaev, head of the laboratory R.Abdullaeva. The department conducts scientific work on the theme "Development and research of electrical technological methods of cultivation and improvement of agricultural products" for 2016-2020. Prof. Under the leadership of A. Radjabov, the fundamental scientific project for 2017-2020 on the theme "Scientific and methodological basis for the development of technologies for the use of renewable energy sources" (on the example of agricultural production) is being implemented. At the department 05.05.07 There are 6 doctoral students in the specialty "Electrical Engineering and Electrical Equipment in Agriculture": the doctoral candidate Markaev N. Akbarov D., Aytbaev N. Sultonov S. Botirov A. Yusupov Sh. At the department "Electrical Engineering and Electrical Equipment Use" there is a circle "Young Power Engineers". Currently, the circle consists of 4 graduate students and 13 undergraduate students. All the professors and teachers of the department are attached to the members of the circle. The department is the Research Institute of Energy and Automation of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, JSC "Elektr Kozhylstroy", JSC "Tokentdonmahsulotlari", JSC "Tashkent Heavy Plant", JSC "Tashkent Heat Center" Tashkentenergo. The Company has established partnerships with Central Power Networks (MET) of SJSC Uzbekenergo. The department maintains and cooperates with the Kazakhstan Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture and the NTP Center, Belarus, which develops modern experimental equipment
