The Faculty of Electrification and Automation of Agriculture, which has its place in the history of the university, was founded in 1961. It represents a new stage in the development of the university, which is focused on the electrification of agricultural production and automation of technological processes. The initial stages of the faculty's work were focused on staff training. In 1978, a separate direction was separated from the faculty - automation of agricultural production, which became an independent faculty. However, three years later, in 1981, these areas were reunited as part of the Faculty of Electrification and Automation of Agriculture. In 2004, the faculties “Electrification and Automation of Agriculture” and “Mechanization of Irrigation and Reclamation Works” were merged, and on their basis the faculty “Automation and Mechanization of Water Resources” was created. However, in 2017 there were changes in the structure of the university. Based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 24, 2017 No. PQ-3003 "On measures to radically improve the system of training engineering personnel for agricultural and water management", Tashkent Irrigation and Agricultural Faculty "Electrification and automation of agriculture and water management" was reorganized into the Institute of Forestry Mechanization Engineers. The corresponding departments of the Tashkent State Agrarian University for bachelor's and master's degrees were added to the institute.

In 2018, on the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 8, 2018 No. PQ-3702 “On measures to radically improve the system of training personnel with higher education at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers,” changes occurred in the name of the faculty. It was renamed "Energy supply for agriculture and water resources". In 2022, based on the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 10, 2021 No. PQ-42 "On measures to radically improve the system of training engineering personnel for sectors of the economy based on innovation and digitalization", Mechanization of Irrigation and Agriculture at the Tashkent Engineering Institute became a university and was named "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" of the National Research University. In this regard, the faculty was given the name "Energy". The development of this faculty was supported by the scientific and technical figure of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Professor P.V. Baidyuk, famous professors S.M. Majidov, M.F. Zaripov, A. Radzhabov, M. Ismoilov, Kh. M. Muratov. About 1000 bachelors and 100 masters study at the faculty.

Faculty of the Institute of Energy Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Research Institute of Nuclear Physics, Moscow Energy Institute, Moscow State Agricultural University, New Mexico State University, California State University, University of Chicago, California State University Texas Agriculture and Mechanization, UK. He has established cooperation with the University of Oxford, the Polytechnic University of Turin in Italy, the Krakow University of Technology in Poland, and the Karabuk University in Turkey. Graduates of the faculty specialize in the operation, repair, installation, adjustment and maintenance of electrical power systems, water supply pumping stations, as well as technical equipment in power supply systems. They may also be involved in the sale of electricity, consumption regulation, energy control and work in areas such as mechanical engineering and marketing of machine technology, as well as in the import and export of machinery and technology. More than 60 professors and teachers work in 4 departments of the faculty, including 10 doctors of science, professors and 35 candidates of science, associate professors. The faculty is widely working to support talented youth, spend their free time productively, and educate them in the spirit of loyalty to the Motherland. The faculty has implemented the “Student-Mentor” system under the guidance of leading professors of the departments.
